AprioMed is a producer of innovative medical devices used in the field of interventional radiology, including products that assist in biopsy, CT fluoroscopy, and nephrostomy procedures. They had an upcoming trade show in early 2016 and needed to develop a sophisticated, eye-appealing medical animation that would demonstrate the workings of their Morrison Steerable Needle™, a new medical device that allows clinicians to actively guide needle procedures around sensitive biological structures. The animation needed to be both visually engaging as well as totally accurate on the functionality of the new medical device, with the final materials produced on a tight four-week timeline to ensure that AprioMed was ready to demonstrate its new medical device video at its upcoming trade show.
MVP's professional animators gathered all source materials and began developing the animation right away. Product imagery was juxtaposed against on-screen texts to introduce the device and its capabilities. An animation of a translucent human body with a liver and tumor highlighted was used to demonstrate how the Morrison Steerable Needle is used to take biopsies with its unique active guidance system, which follows a very specific sequence of actions, from superficial injection and curvature of the needle, to insertion into the targeted tissues and removal of the needle guidance apparatus to allow for aspirations, injections, and biopsies. MVP integrated music into the final video and delivered in high resolution suitable for public display on large widescreen monitors. The client received the video with glowing enthusiasm: "We love it!!"
